In Memory of my Grandmother

I'm sorry I haven't been around for awhile, I've been having a difficult time and I needed to take a hiatus from my knitting and crochet work. Last fall, my grandmother passed away and it has been very hard for me to get over. She was the one who taught me how to crochet and was my mentor and biggest support, then she developed Alzheimer's and her general health began to fail. Even though I know she had a long and fulfilling life and is no longer in pain, I miss her greatly still and picking up the hook is still painful for me.

I had decided to pull my pattern for the shawl I designed for the time being. I finished crocheting it and it became her burial shawl, my final gift for her. I may finish writing it up and sell it at a much later date in her honour and memory.

In her memory, I want to share my favourite of her work.

She crocheted this dress for my mother when she was a very young girt and I wore it when I was little, then it was passed down to me when I had a daughter, but by then the cotton thread became too frail.
